Built upon previous promise (including on soft ground) when easily winning a maiden at Leopardstown (1m, yielding) last October on her fifth start, and reappeared with 2l win in Listed Cheshire Oaks at Chester (11.3f, good) where she wore a hood and blinkers for the first time (retained today); she's followed the same route on her last two races as Minnie Hauk, who won this for Ballydoyle 12 months ago, and Ryan Moore rides; major player.
Comment
Won the Listed Cheshire Oaks by 2l and is following same route as 2025 winner Minnie Hauk
Stable Tour
"She's a good filly, even though it took her a long time to win last year. She'd been second twice and fourth in a Group 3 before she got it done really well at Leopardstown, winning a mile maiden by seven lengths. Ryan rode her at the Curragh on Sunday and loved her. He thinks she'll get a mile and a half well. She's the type for an Oaks trial. 31-03-26"
Quotes
"I was very happy with Amelia Earhart, she's a fine, big filly by Camelot - a family we know well. She was well suited by the step up in trip. She handled the trip, handled the ground and she's done everything right. She's a really nice filly for the rest of the year. That'll do her good today, she'll have learned plenty and she's enjoyed herself - Ryan Moore, jockey.Amelia Earhart a big and strong filly with a beautiful stride and a great temperament. She stayed the trip well and hit the line well, so you couldn't be more delighted. She'll probably go to the Oaks off the back of that. The step up in trip was always there in the pedigree and it showed today - she's a beautiful specimen and the trip obviously helped - Paul Smith, owners' representative."
2026-05-06 - Chester"Amelia Earhart is very good, she's always run well so it's nice to get her head in front. She was very green when I rode her last time, but thankfully she's put it all together today - Jack Cleary, jockey."

All four starts on good to firm/good ground; rallied for fourth in a hot running of the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket last October on her final 2yo run, and she reappeared with a hard-fought win in the Group 3 Musidora at York (10.2f), asserting close home; there is every chance that she will stay 1m4f and her pedigree provides optimism that she will be effective on slow ground; dam is a sister to Frankel; firmly in calculations.

Asserted close home in the Group 3 Musidora at York and she's firmly in calculations
Quotes
"I think it was a very good trial and I liked the way Legacy Link fought her way back and galloped out strongly. Colin [Keane] feels she should go to Epsom. I mentioned the Prix Diane before but all being well we'll go to Epsom. She's got a great mind on her but she was short of match practice. I'd like to have got a run into her earlier but there was nowhere to go - John Gosden, joint-trainer.For the first half Legacy Link was a little bit fresh and gassy and we went along on the wrong lead for the first half. When she got to the front she was a little bit starstruck but, when Kieran's [Shoemark] filly came to her and didn't get away, I always thought we'd outstay her. I'd imagine she'd come on a lot from today. It's obviously a completely different test again [at Epsom] but there's no better man [John Gosden] to get her ready on the day and I think she'll appreciate going a mile and a half - Colin Keane, jockey, speaking to Racing TV."
2026-05-13 - York"Legacy Link is a very well-bred filly and feels very progressive. There's still plenty of improvement to come but she could end up there [Fillies' Mile] - Colin Keane, jockey."

By Frankel and dam won the 1m2f Group 1 Pretty Polly for connections; she's improved with each of her four starts and comfortably won the Group 3 Salsabil Stakes at Navan (1m2f, good to yielding) in April when upped in trip; has shown promise on heavy ground; powered clear in the final furlong last time, providing hope that she will stay 1m4f, and she's one to consider.

"She has a good pedigree and is exciting. She ran very well in a hot maiden on her reappearance where she was just nabbed by a high-class filly. We're going to step her back into stakes company next, although we have to decide where. 22-04-26"
Quotes
"Thundering On is very classy. I was riding the best filly, so it probably looks a bit cannier than it was, but I wasn't in any panic either. I knew I was going to need a bit of luck, but I rode to win, as Ruby Walsh would say - jockey Joey Sheridan, speaking on Racing TV."

7f maiden winner (soft to heavy) who took a big step forward with a convincing win in the Listed Oaks Trial at Lingfield (11.6f, good to firm) last month on her sixth start, which was her first run beyond 1m; Ryan Moore was on board last time and rides stablemate Amelia Earhart this afternoon, but she was certainly impressive at Lingfield and is unexposed at the trip; chance.
Comment
Impressive in Lingfield trial; has a chance even though Ryan Moore rides Amelia Earhart

"She won her maiden over seven furlongs at the Curragh before finishing fourth in a Group 3 back there on heavy ground. We're happy with her and she'll start off in an Oaks trial. 31-03-26"
Quotes
"Today was the first time I've ridden Cameo. She's a scopey filly, and handled the track well and did everything right. She picked up well from a long way out and kept going. She is a filly that will get better as the year progresses. She is a filly that will keep improving and you never know where they can end up but I love everything she did today and would say she will get better - Ryan Moore, jockey.I think it's [the Oaks] is in the thinking. We're very happy with Cameo there, the step up in trip really helped, she showed a bit of class there and hit the line well. She'd have to be a contender to go to the Oaks for sure - Paul Smith, Coolmore representative.Ryan [Moore] was very happy with the performance. He liked the way Cameo extended away and was happy with the trip, as Paul rightly said. She did a nice job there. She's a filly who will improve, so it's exciting - Kevin Buckley. Coolmore UK representative."
2026-05-09 - Lingfield"Cameo is a lovely filly and we always felt she would stay. At Punchestown, on a tight turning track like that, everything happened a little bit quick, but she stayed on well. Up here she was going to come into her own and I thought she won quite well. I think you won't see the best of her until she goes up in trip - Wayne Lordan, jockey."

0-6 since debut win on AW last June and unproven on slow ground; however, she was a fine second in a red-hot running of the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket last October and reappeared with an excellent third in the 1,000 Guineas there (1m) last month; made the running on her last two starts; by Derby winner Masar and rallied in the closing stages last time, so it's possible that this sizeable step up in trip will suit; not ruled out.
Comment
Rallied for 3rd in 1,000 Guineas and it's possible this sizeable step up in trip will suit
Stable Tour
"We campaigned very aggressively after her maiden win and rounded off last season with a great second in the Fillies' Mile. We galloped her at the Craven meeting to try to learn a bit more about how we should be approaching the first half of the season. Through the winter I got the impression that she was going to be more of an Oaks filly than a Guineas filly, but Jason Hart was very happy with her work and I think she'll run in the 1,000 Guineas first. It would be no surprise to see her running in the first four or five and, if she did that, it would be the best possible trial for the Oaks. When you're already rated 108 but believe stepping up in trip is likely to bring more improvement, it's easy to get excited. 21-04-26"
Quotes
"As I said here a couple of weeks ago, we were coming here as an Oaks trial and Venetian Lace couldn't have run a much better one than that. She'll definitely stay ten furlongs and she should stay 12 on pedigree. She'll go straight to Epsom now. She got a bit marooned on her own today and maybe if she'd had some company with the first and second she might have got back up for second, but I am still delighted. When she galloped here at the Craven meeting we left feeling we had more of an Oaks filly than a Guineas filly so to finish third in a 1000 Guineas is brilliant - Charlie Johnston, trainer."
2026-05-03 - Newmarket"Venetian Lace run a great race which was no surprise to us as she's always worked like a nice filly which is why she's run in stakes races all her life. We went to Doncaster last time where she was disappointing but I've lost all confidence in the going description at that track. We came here expecting a top-four finish but given a decent surface she has shown her true colours. We'll work back from the Oaks next year and could bring her back here for the 1,000 Guineas first - Charlie Johnston, trainer."

She has an attractive German pedigree and was bought for 550,000gns as a yearling; won at Newbury (1m, soft) last October on sole 2yo start and beaten about 3l by Amelia Earhart when third in the Listed Cheshire Oaks at Chester (11.3f, good) on last month's reappearance; she still looked a work in progress last time (slowly away and outpaced turning for home) and could have lots more to offer; slow ground might aid her cause; interesting.
Comment
Still looked a work in progress when third to Amelia Earhart in Cheshire Oaks; interesting
Stable Tour
"She did well to win on her debut at Newbury last year. She's has an Oaks entry and will run in a trial somewhere - she'll need some juice in the ground. She is bred to be above average and goes well. She's pretty straightforward and we're just waiting for her to come to hand. 27-04-26"

Sister to connections' 10.2f/1m4f Group 2 winner Pride Of Arras; comfortable win at Southwell (1m, AW) last November on sole 2yo start and the drop to 7f was against her in the Fred Darling at Newbury (good) on her return; left that run well behind when staying on for third in the Group 3 Musidora at York (10.2f, good) last month, beaten just over 2l by Legacy Link; looks set to relish this step up in trip and she could be a serious force.
Comment
Stayed on for third in the Musidora and could be a serious force over this longer trip
Stable Tour
"She ran in the Fred Darling and has come out of the race well. She'd had only one start on the all-weather and she had been working well. She'll step up to a mile and a quarter next as we thought she might be better at middle distances. She's a sister to Pride Of Arras and they're a family who catch on quick, and she's pretty straightforward. 27-04-26"
Quotes
"K Sarra's pedigree says she should get a mile and a half. She was very green through the race and I'd say with a furlong and a half to go, the penny dropped. It's fair to say there was a little bit further to go, I might've got there. She's definitely going the right way and a bit more chilled out than her brother, Pride Of Arras. She has a good mind - Rossa Ryan, jockey."
2026-05-13 - York"K Sarra still has a lot to learn, she was very green still. She's done everything right so far, her works been okay at home and she's bound to improve quite a bit. She's bred to be a decent filly so we will see - Rossa Ryan, jockey."

Won Wolverhampton novice (7f, AW) last October on third start and followed up on handicap/seasonal debut here (8.5f, good) in April; kept on strongly for 1l third in Listed Height Of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood (1m2f, good) 13 days ago; she has plenty to find on form but the step up in trip could prompt further improvement and she might not be a forlorn hope each-way.
Comment
Strong finish for Listed third over 1m2f at Goodwood; might not be a forlorn hope each-way

"She has a few entries but will probably go for a handicap to Epsom on Tuesday. She has an Oaks entry and although she has a miling pedigree, there's a good chance she can stretch out. She shows up well, hence her smart entries. 27-04-26"

Third in Group 2 May Hill at Doncaster (1m, good to soft) last September and readily made all in Group 3 Staffordstown Stud Stakes at the Curragh (1m, heavy) in October; she could improve for last month's comeback run in the Listed Cheshire Oaks at Chester (11.3f, good) but has work to do with stablemate Amelia Earhart and A La Prochaine on that form; others preferred.
Comment
Made all in 2yo Group 3 last October; work to do with two of these on Chester form
Stable Tour
"She won the Group 3 Staffordstown well on her last run and is another one for a trial. She could be an Oaks or a Guineas type. 31-03-26"
Quotes
"Wayne [Lordan] gave Sugar Island a lovely ride. She's a big, galloping filly who stays very well. She had a very good run at Doncaster under Christophe [Soumillon] and it just didn't work out for her at Newmarket. Hopefully we can bring her back for an Oaks trial next year - Chris Armstrong, trainer's representative."
2025-10-21 - Curragh"Sugar Island was just ready to start and we thought she might run a nice race. I am delighted with her, Ryan said she was green but she still won nicely. He said she will stay a mile and a quarter next year. She has a great pedigree, it's a Lily Langtry pedigree and related to Minding as well. She will probably have no problem going into a Group race over a mile and I would like to give her another run somewhere before then. I thought she would be still a maiden after this and then we would go back for another maiden and then go on. Sometimes it is easier on them when they can have two runs in maidens. But I am delighted with her and she will handle an ease in the ground so we don't have to panic because she will have no problem in the autumn - Aidan O'Brien, trainer."
