- Stepping down in grade following an excellent debut third in a Newmarket Class 2 maiden where he comfortably outran his odds.
- William Haggas and James Doyle represent top-tier connections with the stable in solid order (17% win rate, 53% run-to-form).
- Needs to handle the testing soft ground on this second career outing, with Arctic Force posing a credible threat.
Procyon showed clear ability on his debut at Newmarket when finishing third beaten under five lengths in a hot Class 2 novice. Taking a slight drop into Class 3 company here, he looks the standout talent in a field lacking depth. While untested on soft ground, he possesses the highest ceiling and should prove too strong for main market rival Arctic Force.
- Sets the benchmark with two fine runner-up efforts, including a close second in a Class 2 at York
- Represents a yard in healthy form operating at a 17% strike rate and has James Doyle booked
- Needs to prove he handles proper soft ground over this extra furlong
Iron Stone Lad brings the standout level of form into this novice contest courtesy of his narrow defeat in a Class 2 nursery at York. Although he was a beaten favourite on that occasion, this slight drop in class and step up to nine furlongs looks ideal for William Haggas's colt. Caldo remains an obvious danger on the back of his Nottingham second, but the selection has the most substantive form in the book.
- Drawn in stall 2, which boasts an outstanding historical 24.4% win rate and 1.98 Impact Value over 6f at Leicester
- Fitted with a first-time tongue-tie representing an in-form stable operating at a 48% run-to-form rate
- Faces mostly fellow newcomers, with the only raced rival failing to place in two starts
George Scott's filly Cala Vadella gets the nod in an unexposed novice where the sole runner with previous race experience, Windmill, has beaten little and steps up in class. Benefiting from stall 2—statistically the most advantageous draw over this course and distance—she can strike on racecourse debut ahead of stablemate and fellow newcomer Miss Deeds.
- Arrives race-fit following a fine runner-up effort over this exact 2m2f course 20 days ago
- Trainer Philip Fenton is in blistering form, having struck with both of his runners in the last fortnight
- Faces several rivals returning from significant absences of over 170 days
Karl Des Tourelles ran a storming race when second over course and distance on yielding-to-soft ground three weeks ago and holds an official rating of 130 that puts him right at the head of affairs. With his yard boasting a 100% strike rate across the last 14 days and the bulk of the field returning from lengthy lay-offs, he is primed to capitalize. He handles heavy ground well and should see off the long-absent Coral River and King's Bucks.
- Steep drop in grade to Class 4 maiden company following a solid third in a Class 2 at Ayr on heavy going
- Handled deep conditions well on debut, demonstrating clear suitability for today's soft ground
- Short price leaves little margin for error against unexposed rivals
Rogue Constelation displayed noticeable promise when finishing third by three lengths in a Class 2 novice over 7f on heavy ground at Ayr last month. Dropping into a Class 4 maiden over 6f looks ideal for Edward Bethell's colt, and he sets a clear standard against rivals who are either unproven or exposed. He should prove tough to beat if taking another standard step forward with that experience under his belt.
- Sets a clear standard based on Flat form, including an excellent runner-up effort at Galway in July over 1m4½f
- Paul Townend and Willie Mullins teaming up provides significant confidence for this hurdle debut
- Needs to prove his aptitude for jumping and handling deeper ground compared to summer conditions
Sharkeyboy boasts the best credentials in this maiden hurdle having contested high-class Flat handicaps, notably when finishing a close second here at Galway in July. While making his hurdles debut on testing soft ground requires some trust at odds-on, his rivals lack comparable Flat ability or proven hurdles competence. Expect him to prove too classy for Green Soul and Fits Perfect if taking to obstacles cleanly.
- Posted an improved runner-up finish over an extended mile at Nottingham last time out, strongly overperforming market expectations on soft ground.
- Brings the highest official rating in the field (79) and possesses the sharpest recent race-fitness.
- Stepping up to 1m2f for the first time while facing notable potential improvers from major yards.
Nascondino caught the eye when staying on into second beaten under two lengths on testing ground at Nottingham 12 days ago, showing he handles cut underfoot. With a proven rating of 79 and the Kubler yard operating at a healthy 61% run-to-form rate, he sets a clear standard against rivals returning from layoffs. If he stays this 1m2f trip, he should prove too streetwise for William Haggas's beaten-favourite Rowlf and the returning Merci Monsieur.
- Holds an official rating of 114 with consecutive runner-up efforts over hurdles, including a narrow defeat at Listowel last time out.
- Brings the most established hurdles form into the race, trading down to 1.70 and 1.31 in running in recent starts.
- Trainer form has been quiet recently and testing soft conditions present an unproven variable over obstacles.
Coolishael holds a decisive advantage over hurdles compared to his rivals, having repeatedly hit the frame and posted an official mark of 114. While the softer ground at Galway poses a minor test, he has shown plenty of resolve when finding just one too good in maiden company. He looks well placed to finally open his account against rivals who either arrive off lengthy absences or switch from bumpers.
- Only runner with proven, competitive hurdle form following an excellent second at Fontwell
- Strongly overperformed on debut, trading down to 1.54 in-running over a comparable trip
- Short price offers little margin for error against well-bred Flat recruits
Our Wee Horse sets a clear standard after finding only one too good on hurdle debut at Fontwell, where he traded down to 1.54 in-running. While several intriguing Flat recruits oppose, notably Poetry of Time and Aukus from leading stables, the selection's proven jumping aptitude and handling of good ground give him a significant tactical advantage. He should make his experience count to get off the mark.
- Proven over course and distance having won here over 1m2f in September
- Slight drop back to Class 6 grade where she is a three-time winner
- High draw in stall 10 carries a solid statistical record with an A/E of 2.14
Dinah Myte scored over this exact course and distance in September off a mark just 2 lb lower and benefits from a capable 5 lb claiming apprentice. Having contested Class 5 company last time out, this drop back to a winnable Class 6 event provides her with an excellent opportunity to return to the winner's enclosure. While Westender and Little Tiger are respected opponents, the selection's confirmed course form gives her the critical edge.
- High-class National Hunt Flat form, including a 4th-place finish in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and a Punchestown placing
- Gavin Cromwell stable in solid order with a 16% strike rate over the past fortnight
- Making hurdles debut after an absence of 180 days on testing ground
Boycetown represents comfortably the strongest raw ability in the lineup having finished within a length of the winner in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper and winning with ease at Down Royal. While he must transition to hurdles off a 180-day absence, his standard of bumper form towers over this opposition. Gordon Elliott's Thinkitdontjinxit and the course-proven This Songisforyou look the only credible threats.
- Proven over course and distance with two victories at Galway, including over this exact trip
- Effective on soft and yielding ground conditions with a win over hurdles here last October
- Must overcome an absence of 247 days following a pulled-up effort at Fairyhouse in February
Sportinthepark has produced his best performances at Galway, winning this corresponding race over 2m 5½f last autumn off a mark of 118 before scoring over fences here as well. Although returning from an eight-month layoff, he handles testing ground well and has conditions tailor-made for a big run. Stumptown and Open Secret bring class to the table but face demanding weights, making Noel Meade's gelding the primary play.
- Already a decisive Class 4 winner at Newbury over 6f and has an established official rating of 83.
- Ran respectably when beaten just half a length at Southwell over 7f on all-weather return 23 days ago.
- Andrew Balding is in good order firing at a 16% strike rate with a 60% run-to-form mark, booked alongside Oisin Murphy.
Imperial Ballet is the clear standout on established achievement, having already secured a Class 4 success and followed up with a narrow half-length defeat over 7f at Southwell. While Divine Symmetry was an eyecatching second on debut at Newcastle, the Hugo Palmer yard has been relatively quiet (4% strike rate) and Imperial Ballet sets the form standard under Oisin Murphy. Provided she navigates a wide berth in stall 9, she ought to have enough tactical speed and race experience to take this.
- Top rated in the field by 8 lbs with a Performance Rating of 71 that sits well clear of an official mark of 60
- Substantial class drop into Class 6 company having run with credit in Class 4 and 5 races recently
- Proving hard to win with overall (0 career wins from 20 starts), though regular solid placed form sets the standard
Kotari drops markedly into a Class 6 event having finished a close second over 1m6f on soft ground at Haydock two starts back before a solid fifth in Class 4 company at Goodwood. With a standout Performance Rating of 71 against rivals mostly rated in the 50s, he has by far the strongest credentials in this field. If handling amateur pilot execution, he should outclass this opposition with Good Onya Mate and Glitter Code posing the primary threats.
- Sets a clear standard on form with the field's top performance rating of 100
- Strong bumper debut when runner-up at Bellewstown, strongly overperforming market expectations
- Faces several unexposed types and must prove his fitness after a 191-day absence on testing ground
Marble Hill produced an encouraging effort on debut when finding only one too good at Bellewstown, earning a field-leading performance rating of 100. While a 191-day layoff and testing conditions present slight question marks, he has far and away the best form in the book. Ballyadam Star looks the main danger among those with experience, though newcomer Here's Jim demands a market check.
- Equipped with first-time headgear after running creditably in two competitive Class 3 novice events
- Fared well over this course and distance when beaten under a length on debut
- Faces significant unknown danger from well-bred newcomer Idealise for top connections
Stytch holds the strongest bank of relevant experience having hit the line nicely over this track and trip in August before being beaten just 0.2 lengths at Salisbury. The application of a first-time hood should help him settle from a favourable draw in stall 4 under Rossa Ryan. If he handles the synthetic surface again, he can hold off the challenge of Andrew Balding's well-supported debutant Idealise.
- Posted an encouraging third on debut at Salisbury over seven furlongs, finishing just 1.25 lengths behind the winner in a Class 3 contest.
- Drawn favorably in stall 6, which offers an excellent historical record over Kempton's 7f course (16.9% win rate, IV 1.59).
- Short price leaves minimal betting margin, but he sets a clear standard against predominantly unproven or modest rivals.
Showmaster showed substantial promise on debut when finishing third at Salisbury in a competitive Class 3 novice over this 7f trip. With normal physical progression from that run, Clive Cox's colt should prove tough to beat against rivals who have either shown less or lack experience. Raslan and debutant Ala Et Prece look the chief threats if the favourite fails to fire on the polytrack.
- Vastly superior official rating of 96, representing a major drop from Class 1 company where she was repeatedly placed
- Favourable stall 3 draw which boasts a strong 22.8% strike rate and 1.63 A/E at this track and trip
- Dropping back to 1m3f having campaigned mostly over staying trips, which introduces a mild pace query
Peace Belle sets an imposing standard based on her official rating of 96 and multiple respectable efforts in black-type company throughout the summer and autumn. While she has been doing her recent racing over longer trips, her class should easily carry her through against unexposed but modest rivals in maiden company. The Gosden-trained Yamnah represents the primary threat if improving for the step up in trip, but Peace Belle has by far the strongest form in the book.
- Sets the standard with an official rating of 84 and comes off an agonising near-miss (beaten a nose, traded 1.01 in-running) over 11f at Southwell.
- Trainer Warren Greatrex is in red-hot form with a 29% strike rate and 57% run-to-form rate over the last fortnight.
- Draw 1 is statistically unfavourable over 1m4f at Kempton, but he possesses tactical speed and proven stayers' stamina.
Liam Mera Kai sets a clear standard based on his official rating of 84 and arrives following an unlucky short-head defeat at Southwell where he traded down to 1.01. Warren Greatrex's yard is operating in peak form (29% strike rate in the last 14 days), and this gelding should take plenty of stopping now returned to 1m4f. The primary dangers are Maldives, who drops into novice company after contesting higher grades, and Flagbearer, who sports first-time cheekpieces for William Haggas.
- Confirmed Southwell standard: runner-up over 7f here 23 days ago, showing by far the best established level in the field
- Trainer Michael Appleby is in red-hot form, operating at a 35% win rate over the past fortnight, with Tom Marquand booked
- Dropping to 6f is a minor variable, and an odds-on quote leaves very little betting margin
Big Money sets a clear standard following his second-place finish over seven furlongs at this track 23 days ago, which is comfortably the best form on offer against exposed rivals and debutants. Representing a Michael Appleby yard operating at a red-hot 35% strike rate, he is well placed to get off the mark. Darkwing and newcomer Prosewriter represent the primary threats if bringing sufficient progress.
- Clear top on performance rating (68) and speed rating (64), sitting well clear of an official rating of 57.
- Brings strong in-play efforts from recent AW runs, beaten under a length on his last two starts.
- Drawn in stall 12 which makes ground-saving difficult around Kempton's turn.
Express Train sets the benchmark on form with a field-leading performance rating of 68 and has been repeatedly beating his market expectations, finishing fourth beaten under a length at Wolverhampton when last seen. Short-priced favourite Roy Lane is opposable having been beaten in all five starts and offering no value at 8/11. Despite an awkward stall in 12, Richard Phillips's gelding brings the best recent level into this weak event.
