Narrowly regained the winning thread in big field over C&D (good) last time when dropped back to 6f for first time since debut; unexposed at this trip and still looks favourably treated back up just 3lb; respected.

Quotes
"That was a good performance and we've always liked Mirabeau. We thought he'd win first time at Newbury and he was the last off the bridle. He scoped badly afterwards and took a long time to come 100 per cent. He came on for his win at Brighton, he likes to get his toe in and he stays well. We'll probably put him away now and we hope he can make his mark in black type company next year - Dominic Ffench Davis, trainer."
2024-10-11 - York"Funnily enough he [James Park Woods; winner of the preceding race] and Mirabeau did a cracking piece of work together last week. We knew if he ran well then Mirabeau would likewise and he bolted up. We always thought a lot of this horse and were a bit disappointed with his first run at Newbury. We scoped him and found mucus in his lungs and it took a while to get it right, but we came here full of confidence - Dominic Ffrench Davis, trainer."

"That was brilliant. Oisin gave Berkshire Whisper a peach of a ride and that was real class. I think he's got a lot to give. He could go for the Commonwealth Cup. He may have one more run just to be sure, we don't want to make ourselves look stupid, then I think we'll be there - Paul Spickett, owner."

Quotes
"Wiltshire is happier now we've done it. And the tongue-strap helps as well. He's always had the ability and he obviously likes it here. Cieren [Fallon] knows him well and he's good at cool rides, isn't he? He jumped much better today, he'd been giving away lengths at the start. Craig Witherford has worked with him and hopefully we've put that one to bed - Maureen Haggas, trainer's assistant."
2026-04-03 - Newcastle (AW)"I was very impressed. The race developed in front of us and we picked up the pieces. The gaps got tight but Wiltshire stuck his neck out and he kicked on well. The ground went against him last time as it was a bit quick and he didn't let himself down on it. You've seen the best version of him and he's improving - Cieren Fallon, jockey."

Quotes
"When I rode Purosangue the last day, he bumped into a really nice horse of Karl's (Burke, trainer). I was very confident he'd stay the six and he stayed well. He was a willing partner who has been so consistent all year and deserved to finish off the year on a high note. He wouldn't be the biggest but he's solid. He's got great mental strength and I'd be confident he'd train on" - P J McDonald, jockey."
2023-10-14 - York"We're just thrilled Purosangue is back on form - he created a very good impression first time out, and we just thought he did things the wrong way round at Newmarket. That was much more like it, and he was beaten by a very good horse. He won on pretty good ground at Haydock so I think he's quite versatile. He looks like he'll be made for the Roses at York - Andrew Balding, trainer."

"We bought him out of Owen Burrows' yard as an unraced two-year-old and he has taken his time to get there. He won twice on the all-weather last year and ran some fine races on turf without winning, but he has really thrived on the all-weather this winter. After a break we brought him back in January at Lingfield, where he won over 6f, and he has since added to that with wins at Kempton and in the Listed Kachy Stakes at Lingfield. Clearly he has improved with age and, although he has risen to a mark of 108, there may be a little more to come and I'd hope to campaign him similarly this summer to last. Before he resumes on the grass he'll go for the 6f race at the all-weather finals meeting on Good Friday, where I hope he'll be hard to beat. 22-03-23"
Quotes
"Annaf has come back to form now, which is great to see. I've not been that happy with his work but he's very talented and he's been getting back to where he normally was. We just freshened him up and did a few different things. We'll see where we go now with him now. He could possibly go abroad to Saudi for the race he won last year - Mick Appleby, trainer."
2025-10-04 - Ascot"It's all down to Rossa, not my training. Anaaf keeps improving and keeps surprising us. Where we go next, God knows, but he's got that invitation to Japan and we'll possibly go there. These big meetings are becoming quite a habit really. It really feels like the sky's the limit. These international wins mean so much because it really does put the yard on the map - Mick Appleby, trainer."
2024-02-24 - Riyadh"I love everything about Annaf. He's something else and he loved getting shifted about and being taken off his racing line today. He's really thriving and you have to give it to Mick Appleby and his team. He's been on the go since the start of the year and has not missed one beat - Rossa Ryan, jockey."
2023-10-07 - Ascot"Annaf has been a star to me this year. My only concern was the ground and I knew the race was going to be ridden to suit him perfectly. He's a classy horse and a lot of people are forgetting he was third in the King's Stand and I'd imagine one of those nice Group races will fall for him. To do this off topweight on ground he didn't like, took some doing - Rossa Ryan, jockey."
2023-09-16 - Doncaster"It wasn't the plan to miss the break like that with Annaf but he did it well in the end. The plan is to go straight to all-weather finals day at Newcastle, although he could be a nice horse on turf later on - Mick Appleby, trainer."

Quotes
"We probably actually expected that two runs ago on his first start as Dark Ace showed us plenty at home, but the first day he ran a bit free and things didn't go to plan. We worked him up here last week on the surface and he worked well - Adam Caffrey, jockey, talking to Racing TV."

"He's a nice horse. He ran in Bahrain last winter and was second in two of the turf series races. If he'd won one of those he would have been the champion sprinter in Bahrain last year, but annoyingly we missed out on that. He won a local Grade 1 over there, I ran him on a Thursday night in a turf series race where he ran fantastically well. He was flying home on the Sunday - but pulled out on the Friday morning looking so well we ran him in the Grade 1 that day and he won. Things haven't dropped right for him here this season. He's a top-of-the-ground horse - I was training him for the Dash at Epsom but that looserain-softened ground didn't work for him. Then we ran him in the Wokingham and a horse called Get It did something ridiculous up the middle of the track and Jim Crowley wasn't hard on him. Then in the Stewards' Cup things didn't drop right because of the weather. So he goes back to Bahrain off a mark of 92 having been put up to 100 after he won the local Grade 1. He loves it over there - he's leased by the Turf Club who will be out there supporting him in force. He loves the fast ground in Bahrain so hopefully will be a standard-bearer for us this winter. 15-10-25"

"You never know when Desert Cop is going to turn up like that - sometimes he doesn't travel with the same zest. All the signs were positive coming into today. I'm not sure he is a Group 1 horse but is the sort that improves with age and hopefully he can reach a high level - Oisin Murphy, rider."
2024-05-04 - Newmarket"We're delighted, absolutely thrilled. Oisin got off and was very complimentary about Desert Cop, it will be an exciting year for him - Anna Lisa Balding, trainer's wife."

"He came back a little bit tight from his last run at Hamilton but we should be able to get him back for the Wokingham. He can be a bit slowly away but Jack Nicholls seems to get a good tune out of him and we'll stick with him. It's a good opportunity for Jack to ride in a race like that. 12-06-25"
"A horse I have a lot of time for. He was most unfortunate not to win on his debut at York last year when missing the break, giving up several lengths and only going down by a head. He has not done a lot wrong since, winning three times as a juvenile and ending up the season on a mark of 92. On his second run this season at York last time he defied top weight with an impressive win over 5f, but the handicapper has really hammered him hard with a 9lb rise. He was going for the Holyroodhouse after that but it will be tough now off 104. We will still head to the royal meeting and see how that pans out, but off his new mark we will have to start looking at Listed and Group 3 races for him. I think there is more to come - I certainly hope so after such a sharp hike in his mark. 01-06-22"
Quotes
"Korker seemed to get away reasonably well, he was tracking the pace and he finished strongly - Karl Burke, trainer."
2024-09-21 - Ayr"Korker was very good and he especially jumped the gates nicely. He was very relaxed at the start and he picked them off. He bumped into a horse rated 111 at Ascot [Emaraaty Ana] and wasn't far behind him. His last three runs have been very good and he's been frustrating at the gates before, but he's really come on. He's grown up now. He's got a bit of a confidence booster now and after speaking to the boss that might be it for the year, so he'd be ending it on a high - Clifford Lee, rider."
2023-10-23 - Windsor"Korker has been so unlucky as he keeps missing the break and deserves his win. I've ridden him loads and when he doesn't miss the break, he never actually races through, but when you miss it slightly he hits the frame. He didn't miss it today, but we couldn't get into stride in the first furlong. I thought we were going to get lapped but he really got me back into it - Clifford Lee, jockey."
2023-09-26 - Beverley"Korker was very relaxed for a sprinter. He'll go for the Holyroodhouse Handicap at Royal Ascot."
2022-05-13 - York"Korber is a little bit quirky in the stalls, hence he goes in last with the hood on, but he jumped reasonably quickly and had a nice smooth run. He's a high-class horse, who we've thrown in the deep end, and he's proved he's got a lot of ability. We'll see what Listed races are around for him and I'm sure he'll be a lovely horse next year - Karl Burke, trainer."

"I thought he was a penalty kick at Goodwood on Sunday and I think he's got a great chance at Ascot. He'll be entered in the Coventry, Norfolk and Windsor Castle. 13-06-23"
"I wanted to try him over 7f, but that with soft ground is going to be too much. He's doing well and he's in a good place. He's taking his runs well. A mark of 89 gives us room for manoeuvre and he can improve. I have a hunch he'll get 7f and there are a couple of races coming up that he could go at. Hopefully he'll be around for a few years and he can turn into one of those proper heritage handicap horses as a four- or five-year-old. 11-09-24"
